Kaçkar Mountains are a high mountain range covering Rize and Artvin provinces in Turkey's Eastern Black Sea region. The Kaçkar Summit at 3937m is always on the target list of experienced mountaineers. However, the unique nature and routes the mountains offer also provide accessible opportunities for amateur hikers.
Best Season for Kaçkar Trekking
The ideal season for trekking in Kaçkar is from **mid-July to mid-September**. In these months, snow largely melts, passes open, and weather is relatively stable. Still, sudden weather changes are always possible at high altitudes.
